Some Early Spring Rooftop Shots

Above
: Starting to wake back up from the winter--garlic shoots and lettuce seedlings.

Left: Checking a test grow bag--recycled burlap bags filled with soil and seedlings. This one is also growing lettuce.

Our first rooftop dinner of the season! Assorted cheeses (two Vermont cheddars), and bread from Roberta's; beet salad with goat cheese and rooftop spinach that survived the winter; steamed artichokes with lemony drawn butter; grilled portabellas and squash; Northern Spain rosé from Bowery and Vine.

Your rooftop is all very beautiful! Been out in my garden (flowers & veggies) much this spring. I was thrilled to use my first issue of matured and rich compost in a planting today with goddaughter Katie helping...we put in 4 broccoli plants (that I acquired at a plant swap event), and a strip of carrot seeds.

Ask me about plant swap events...we drove 20 miles to one, but plan to start one next spring in our local area.
